Neurologic Services

Dogs are commonly presented with weakness, paralysis or seizures. Intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) is a common problem in the cervical, thoracolumbar and lumbosacral regions of the spine. Computed axial tomography (CT) with or without myelography will be needed to differentiate IVDD from other causes of weakness, such as fibrocartilaginous emboli (FCE), spinal tumors, spinal cord degeneration and peripheral neuropathies.

Pre-Myelogram
Post-Myelogram

We commonly perform many neurologic procedures at our facility for disc herniations, including ventral slots in the cervical region, hemilaminectomies and dorsal laminectomies in the thoracolumbar and lumbosacral regions. Seizure patients may be imaged and have the Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) collected and analysed.
